It was a dominate weekend for the Men’s Basketball and Football teams for the University of Tennessee.
It started with a Saturday matinee as the #12 Tennessee Volunteer basketball team traveled to the Bluegrass State to take on the Louisville Cardinals. Tennessee who was a 2.5 point underdog on the road, upset the Louisville faithful leading wire-to-wire and picking up a 77-55 win. Zakai Zeigler lead the Vols in scoring with 19 points while Reyne Smith lead the team from the ACC with 18 points. The 12th ranked Vols will see action again on Wednesday playing host to the Montana Grizzlies in Knoxville.
Saturday night Josh Heupel and his 7th ranked Tennessee Volunteer football team held a homecoming game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava only played the first half due to an upper body injury. He was able to throw two touchdowns en route to a 33-14 win over Mississippi State. The Vols are on the road for their next game on November 16th as #7 Tennessee will play #3 Georgia. Coverage can be heard on 102.5 WOW Country.
