The Crossville Police Department has returned a leaf blower to its rightful owner after it was stolen four years ago. It all began when a landscaper was working in Fairfield Glade and someone in a golf cart picked up his leaf blower and drove away. A woman later found the piece of equipment sitting in the road in front of Weigel’s. She turned it into the Fairfield Police Department and when no one claimed it a year later, it was handed over to the Fairfield Glade Community Center. On Monday (11/18/2024), Crossville Police received a call from the Co-Op after the leaf blower was dropped off for repairs. Employees checked the serial number on the Stihl website and discovered it had been reported stolen on November 4, 2020. They also obtained the owner’s name. Police contacted the owner and returned his $580 leaf blower. No charges are being pressed at this time due to insufficient evidence to intentionally deprive the owner of his property.
