Man Finds Bags of Cash on Highland Lane, Estimated $1,000

Sandwich bags filled with an estimated $1,000 were found on the side of the road near the 2000 block of Highland Lane.  The person who found the cash notified the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office Thursday afternoon (11/21/2024).  The bags also contained tapes from an adding machine.  The tapes had writing on them but were hard to read due to weathering on the bags.  Deputy Jacob Moore explained to the person that they could hold on to the money for 30 days and obtained their phone number in the event that someone were to come to the Sheriff’s Office to claim the money.
