A truck driver who tipped his semi over Monday afternoon near the Crossville Cracker Barrel now faces DUI and marijuana charges. Crossville Police were dispatched to Executive Drive around 1:45pm. While the driver was still in the truck, an officer observed him toss a backpack for a civilian to catch, then he climbed out of the vehicle on his own. The officer reports a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the cab of the semi-truck. According to the police report, driver Daniel Luke Brock, 37, of Maryville, had pinpoint pupils and refused to perform a Standardized Field Sobriety test. A probable cause search of the backpack revealed marijuana in a dispensary container, a marijuana joint, and marijuana in a grinder. Mr. Brock was transported to CMC for a blood draw and then to the Cumberland County Justice Center where he was charged with DUI, Possession of 4.14 Grams of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
