Crossville PD and THP Increasing Patrols This Christmas

Dec 23, 2024 | 8:23 PM

The Crossville Police Department has picked up patrols this holiday season in an effort to keep impaired drivers off the road.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is also stepping up patrols in all 95 counties to ensure safe travels this Christmas. With increased traffic, remember to slow down, avoid distractions, never drive impaired, have a designated driver and buckle up every time.  If you feel sleepy, pull over, grab some fresh air, or take a quick nap.

Colonel Matt Perry reminds everyone, “The holidays are a time for joy, but they can also bring increased risks on the road. Plan ahead and drive safely so everyone gets to their destination.”

AAA says more than 2.5 million Tennesseans are forecast to take a road trip this holiday season. That’s 52,000 more travelers on Tennessee roadways  than last year.
