A Sparta man was arrested early Sunday morning (1/5/2025) after he reportedly wrecked at Buc-ee’s.  Crossville Police were dispatched to the location shortly after midnight where employees showed officers video of a male subject driving a green van turn from Genesis Road and into the ditch in front of Buc-ee’s.  The van drove through the gas pumps at Buc-ee’s at which point the driver, later identified as 38-year-old Joseph Loye Webster, jumped from the moving vehicle and rolled on the ground.  The van traveled into a concrete utility pole.  The video showed Webster running to the doors on the west side of Buc-ee’s, which were locked.  Webster ran into the locked doors and reportedly tried to force them open, but failed. Webster then disappeared from camera view.  Police were able to determine that Webster was the registered owner of the green van and had a suspended license.  The van was towed due to the engine block being pushed into the cab of the van.   Shortly before 3pm Mr. Webster was located at the Speedway on Genesis Road.  Webster was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, and driving on a suspended license. He was transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center.
