White County Sheriff Steve Page Warns of Court Date/Warrant Scam

White County Sheriff Steve Page is warning the public about a court date scam.  On his Facebook page, Sheriff Page says someone is calling people with what appears to be a 931-836-2700 number, which is the White County Justice Center’s number, but it will appear as White County Ambulance.  The individuals are claiming that you have missed a court date and that you have a warrant. They are very convincing and will not let you get off the phone. They are insisting to meet you at the Sheriff’s Department or the Justice Center so you can take care of the warrant instead of being arrested. They will request for you to go purchase a card to pay for the fees. Do not give them any information and do not purchase cards. This is a scam.  White County Sheriff Steve Page says that if you ever have a warrant for an arrest, you will not be able to pay a fee to anyone to skip being arrested.
