A Crossville man faces numerous charges after he allegedly broke into a bus and ran over the property owner’s foot as he was trying to leave. According to reports, around 4:30pm Monday (February 3, 2025) Crossville Police contacted the victim who stated Barry Smith broke into his bus by taking the door off the hinges. The victim stated after confronting Mr. Smith, he went to close the gate to the driveway. Barry got into his vehicle and as he was leaving, the victim said Barry ran over his foot, causing him to fall to the ground. The victim complained of injuries to his left foot and minor injuries to his left arm and hand. The victim estimated the cost to repair the bus door at $300. Later that evening, a Deputy picked up 69-year-old Barry Orville Smith and transported him to the Cumberland County Jail for booking for his active warrants. He has been charged with Burglary, Aggravated Assault and Vandalism. Smith’s bond has been set at $22,000 and his General Sessions court date is March 17th.
