An escaped Roane County Detention Facility inmate is back in custody after he climbed over the recreation yard fence on Saturday. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Benjamin R. Johnson injured himself in the process due to the razor wire. Area law enforcement agencies, K9 units, and a drone were immediately dispatched and began to track Mr. Johnson and contain his escape efforts. At approximately 1:10pm he was taken into custody by Roane County Deputies and a K9 unit in a wooded area in Kingston. Charges are pending.
