Child Dies From Flu in Tennessee

A child has died from the flu in Tennessee.  The pediatric death occurred during the last week of January and is the first flu death of the season and of this year.  During the week of January 26,  there were 38 open influenza outbreaks reported across the state.  Nationwide, Tennessee is in the very high category for influenza-like illnesses.
