The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation has announced that Watts Bar Utility District has been awarded a $1 million loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Loan Program to address waterline extensions.
The loan is one of four approved by the Tennessee Local Development Authority, with loans for the Watts Bar Utility District, City of Munford, Town of Carthage, and the City of McMinnville totaling $9.9 million.
This fiscal year, TDEC has awarded over $38 million in drinking water loans and more than $75 million in clean water loans to meet the state’s infrastructure needs.
