Crossville Police were called to Weigle’s on West Avenue after a woman reportedly used counterfeit money that was designated as a movie prop to buy snacks and lottery tickets. The suspect paid with a bogus 5 and 10 dollar bill. A Cumberland County Sheriff Deputy later spotted the suspect, Sarah Morgan, walking on Highway 70 North. After admitting to the crime, she first claimed she found the fake bills near Cornerstone Baptist Church but later said a man gave them to her. A search of the area revealed a counterfeit $100 bill, which was seized and destroyed. The fake $5 and $10 bills were entered into evidence, but the $15 in stolen goods was not recovered.
