A car tire that came off a vehicle being towed reportedly caused an estimated $20,000 in damage when it struck the side of the Parts City Auto Parts building on West Avenue in Crossville. The owner of Parts City told police that someone informed him that the tow truck was at the nearby Weigel’s and he made contact with the driver. Police obtained information on both the driver and the tow truck company. The Crossville Fire Department observed the structure damage and advised management to cover the dent in the building to prevent water damage.
