Man Arrested After High-Speed ATV Chase Through City Streets and Fields

A man was taken into custody Monday evening after leading law enforcement on a chase through multiple city streets, parking lots, and fields on an ATV. According to police, the pursuit began around Hayes Street when an officer observed the ATV, operated by a white male later identified as Michael Culver, 56, of Andrews Lane, and attempted a traffic stop. Culver failed to stop, fleeing through several city streets, including Webb Avenue and Highway 70 East. The chase continued through the hospital parking lot, Dayton Avenue, Wells Road, and eventually County Seat Road. Culver drove the ATV into a wooded area where officers pursued on foot and apprehended him in the woods. Authorities later confirmed that Culver had an active warrant for violation of parole. He now faces additional charges, including felony evading arrest. The ATV was released back to its legal owner.
