As of 7am Sunday, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office was still searching for an escaped pet zebra.
On Saturday the Sheriff’s Office said the zebra was on the loose and wreaking havoc on Interstate 24 near Joe B. Jackson Parkway.
Sheriff’s deputies had to briefly close the interstate because the zebra was running through traffic on both sides of the highway.
The zebra eventually disappeared into the woods.
The owners had just obtained the animal Friday night.
