The cause of a house fire in Putnam County Saturday remains under investigation. According to a press release from the Putnam County Fire Department, at approximately 3:20 p.m. on June 7th, Putnam County Fire Department (PCFD) and Baxter Fire Department (BFD) responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 5000 block of Buffalo Valley Road.
Upon arrival, crews observed heavy fire coming from the front of the home. Firefighters from PCFD and BFD conducted an aggressive interior attack and were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
Although the residence sustained significant damage, no injuries were reported. Fire crews were also able to rescue two kittens from the home during the incident. (Photo courtesy Putnam County Fire Dept.)
