#11 Tennessee Holds off Late Charging Arkansas

The Tennessee Volunteers hosted the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday looking for their first win over the Hogs since 2007. The Vols took a 34-17 lead early in the fourth quarter, however Arkansas, led by interim coach Bobby Petrino, made a comeback that ultimately fell short. Tennessee called the hogs home with a 34-31 score.

Tennessee’s Joey Aguilar threw for 221 yards with 1 touchdown which was caught by Myles Kitselman. Joey also rushed 5 times for 59 yards. The other three touchdowns were on the ground thanks to DeSean Bishop and Peyton Lewis. Lewis rushed for 33 yards and scored 2 touchdowns while Bishop rushed for 146 yards on 14 carries and had 1 rushing touchdown.

The Vols move to 6-1 on the year and are now bowl eligible. Next up the “Third Saturday In October”, #11 Tennessee travels to Tuscaloosa to take on #6 Alabama the 108th meeting of the rivalry. Coverage between #11 Tennessee & #6 Alabama can be heard Saturday on 102.5 WOW Country.
