It was a tough weekend for #19 Tennessee football and #14 Lady Vol basketball as both teams took losses.
Saturday was Senior Day on Rocky Top when #19 Tennessee hosted their rivals from Nashville in the 14th ranked Vanderbilt Commodores. The Vols hung close in the first half but it was all Vandy in the final two quarters as the Commodores would go back to the State Capital with a 45-24 win. Their first win against Tennessee since 2018. The Vols end the regular season with an 8-4 record and will play in a bowl game next. The Vols will find out what bowl game they will be in within the next couple of weeks.
Sunday it was a trip to Los Angeles for the #14 Tennessee Lady Vols as they played guest to #3 UCLA. The Lady Vols played the Bruins close, even having a 1 point lead in the second quarter however after UCLA’s Gabriela Jaquez dropped 29 points and Kiki Rice scored 20 points the Bruins would dominate the Lady Vols with a final of 99-77. The Lady Vols will be back in action again on Wednesday as they stay in California to take on Stanford.
