Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies Find 15-Month-Old Child in Dangerous Drug Environment, Four Arrested

On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, PCSO Deputies, PCSO Narcotics Unit, and PCSO Warrants Division responded to the eastern area of Monterey after numerous public complaints regarding heavy traffic coming from a suspected drug house located at 1749 Old Walton Rd.

Deputies made contact with the property owner, Tammy Swallows, who granted Deputies entry into the residence. Inside the home, Detectives identified three other individuals as Dwight Wilson, Avery Gilpatrick Jr, and Cherish Threet. Detectives also discovered various items of drug paraphernalia.

Threet was in a locked room with a 15-month-old that she is not the mother of. Inside the room, Detectives discovered fentanyl and drug paraphernalia within reach of the child, as well as two firearms. DCS took emergency custody of the child.

Approximately 7 grams of fentanyl, 1 gram of meth, 2 firearms (one which was loaded), and over $1,000 in cash was seized.

Tammy Swallows, Dwight Wilson, and Avery Gilpatrick Jr were taken into custody and charged with Haley’s Law – Aggravated Child Abuse, Neglect, and Endangerment. They each have a bond of $200,000 and a court date of January 5, 2026.

Cherish Threet was also taken into custody and charged with Haley’s Law – Aggravated Child Abuse, Neglect, and Endangerment, Manufacture/Delivery/Sell of Fentanyl, Manufacture/Delivery/Sell of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Weapon During a Dangerous Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Alteration of Serial Numbers. Threet has a bond set at $417,000 and a court date of January 5, 2026.

Sheriff Farris said, “The conditions this 15-month-old was found in were unacceptable and extremely dangerous. I’m proud of our Detectives for acting quickly to remove the child from this situation and for holding those responsible accountable.
