The TSSAA Mr. & Miss Basketball finalists were announced on Thursday and Cumberland County High School’s Sydney Wilhite has been named as one of those finalists in Class 3A.
Wilhite will be in the running for the Class 3A Miss Basketball award with Andrea Flores from Daniel Boone High School and Chelby Jordan of Dyersburg High School.
Sydney is leading the Lady Jets in scoring with a average of 26 points per game. Wilhites offensive calliber is high, scoring a total of 630 points this season along with making 70 three pointers. Not only is she a offensive threat she can defend as well as she leads the team in steals averaging 3.9 steals per game. Wilhite also averages the most boards per game for the girls in sky blue with 5.5 rebounds per game.
If Syndey were to win she would be the second player from Cumberland County High School to win. The first player to be awarded the honor from CCHS was Gracie Dishman when she won it in 2019.
