Larry West Convicted of Voluntary Manslaughter in Morgan County

A Morgan County Jury has convicted 45-year-old Larry West of voluntary manslaughter in the November 2021 beating and kicking death of 69-year-old Vester ‘Moe’ Stringfield.  It happened outside of Stringfield’s residence in Lancing. West claimed Mr. Stringfield had tried to pull a pocketknife on him.  According to District Attorney General Russell Johnson, West faces three to six years since he has no prior qualifying felony convictions. Sentencing is set for June 1st.
