The TWRA is investigating a fatal boating incident Friday in Coffee County. Around 11:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to an unoccupied boat that was drifting on Normandy Lake. Later that afternoon, authorities received a phone call that 21-year-old Ashton Matney, of Lawrenceburg had gone out on the lake and never returned home. His body was recovered Friday night in about 10 feet of water. He was not wearing a floatation device. This is the fifth boating-related death this year in Tennessee.
