At least 8 Putnam County Schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday (May 19, 2026) following multiple false threat calls.  The calls are part of a recent wave of threats that have made various threats including potential bombs and potential guns on campus.  The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and the School System said all threats were taken seriously and thoroughly investigated. All students and staff remained safe. Law enforcement said the calls that came in on Tuesday are from the same individual who has made prior calls.  These calls are believed to be part of a nationwide hoax and the investigation is ongoing.
