Repairs on the Spur Tunnel in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are scheduled to begin on January 3, 2023. Workers will fix water leaks in the tunnel and make lighting improvements. The northbound Spur will be reduced to one lane through April 7, 2023. The lane closures will cause temporary delays. Motorists should reduce speed, allow extra time for northbound travel, and refrain from honking when traveling through the construction zone. The $10 million project should be completed by June 5.
