Jan 1, 2023 | 4:07 PM

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reports that an East Tennessee fisherman died Saturday morning after falling from his boat into Cherokee Lake.  Jeremy Gene Kene, 47, of Morristown, was fishing with his 14-year-old son when Mr. Keen fell into the water around 8am.  His son got into the water and held onto his father until another fisherman who saw the incident pulled them both out of the lake.  Mr. Keen did not survive.  His son was taken to the hospital to be treated for cold-water exposure. Wildlife officials said the temperature in the lake was about 36 degrees Fahrenheit. Neither the father nor son was reportedly wearing a life jacket.
