A missing 3-year-old Cookeville girl was found dead at the bottom of a swimming pool Thursday afternoon. The Cookeville Police Department was called to the 1100 block of East 10th Street for a report of a missing child. On arrival, multiple officers began searching the area and located the girl at the bottom of a swimming pool nearby. Officers immediately jumped into the pool to rescue the child and began performing life-saving measures on the unconscious three-year-old girl. The child was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center by ambulance where she was pronounced deceased. The incident remains under investigation.
