It was another midweek battle of rivals for Tennessee as the 6th ranked Volunteers traveled to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt. After a back and forth physical game from both teams it came down to the final seconds. The Vols were ahead 65-63 with just 8 seconds to go and after missing free throws the Commodores had a chance to win it. With time expiring Vanderbilt shot a corner 3-Pointer to knock off the 6th ranked Volunteers with a final of 65-66.
Four Volunteers scored in double-digits Wednesday night. Tyreke Key and Santiago Vescovi scored 14 points a piece while Julian Phillips and Olivier Nkamhoua both scored 10 points a piece. For Vandy Tyrin Lawrence scored 19 points, Liam Robins scored 14 points and Jordan Wright scored 12 points.
The Vols now look to play Missouri this Saturday. The action between the Volunteers and Tigers starts at 5:00 PM and coverage can be heard on Sports Radio 97.7 The Ticket starting at 4:30 PM.
