The 2022-23 Wrestling season for Cumberland County High School and Stone Memorial High School is coming to the close and both schools will be sending Wrestlers to the TSSAA State Tournament in Franklin, TN.
CCHS will be represented by 2 Wrestlers both from their Girls Team. Kaitlyn Carson will wrestle in the 165 Weight Class and Jade Tulley will wrestle in the 152 Weight Class. Jade and Kaitlyn both qualified for the State Tournament after finishing in the Top 4 at their Region Tournament at Franklin County last Friday.
SMHS will be represented by 6 Wrestlers, 3 boys and 3 girls. For the Girls team Hannah Simoes will be in the 126 Weight Class. Jaelyn Patton who will be looking to get back on the Podium at the State Tournament will wrestle in the 145 Weight Class. Paige Patton who won the 2022-23 152 lbs Region Championship last week at Franklin County will try to keep her momentum going in the 152 Weight Class. Jaelyn Patton and Hannah Simoes both qualified for the State Tournament after both finishing 2nd in their respective weight classes at Franklin County. The Boys team is Cole Lester in the 113 Weight Class, Aubrey Thompson in the 145 Weight Class, and Khalli Dishman in the 195 Weight Class. The boys qualified for the State after Cole and Aubrey finished 3rd in their Sectional Tournament and Khalli finished 2nd. Cole and Sam Bringhurst were able to win their Region Championships for SMHS a couple of weeks ago at Alcoa.
The TSSAA State Tournament will be Feb. 23rd – Feb. 25th at the Williamson County Ag Center in Franklin, TN. To keep up with the Wrestlers from Crossville updates will be given at the end of each day on the PEG Broadcasting family of Websites.
