Tennessee Historical Commission Announces Historic Preservation Fund Grants

The Tennessee Historical Commission has announced 35 Federal Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) grants totaling over $839,000 awarded for various historic preservation and archaeological projects throughout the state. Some of those projects include a $14,000 grant to the Morgan County Tourism Alliance to fund the restoration of the Tanner Store. The City of Algood in Putnam County was awarded $22,500 for the restoration of the White Plains museum. Clay County will receive $6,000 for window restoration at the Courthouse. A $40,000 grant to the Upper Cumberland Development District will fund a preservation specialist staff position. And the Tennessee Division of Archaeology will get $6,000 to fund a survey of Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park in Coffee County.
