Sales tax revenue for the city of Crossville totaled $602,654.00 for February, down by $1780 from last year. The numbers do not reflect the stay at home periods of March and April, and officials are expecting a significant drop in the coming months. Collection figures from liquor sales are more recent and show an increase for April with over $50,000 in collections. Year to date liquor sales are at $424,538. The Hotel Occupancy Tax collections tumbled for March. The City took in over $12,000 in 2019 from hotel guests. This year, collections were on track to outpace 2019, but those figures were derailed in March when COVID-19 fears dropped collections to $9,000. Permits for building remain strong with the city collecting just under $30,000 for building projects in the city and county. For the year to date, $342,000 in permit fees have been collected.
