The Cumberland Plateau Water Authority met in regular session on Monday. The board continued its organizational efforts by approving the appointment of attorney Kenneth Chadwell as their legal representative. Chadwell agreed to work on an as-needed hourly basis. Funding for the authority is awaiting approval from the state comptroller. Crab Orchard Utility District offered a loan of $500,000 last month for the board to begin their efforts to consolidate Cumberland county’s water resources. The authority will meet again on May 1st at 6 pm in the conference room at Cumberland Medical Center.
