According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office a Crossville Woman was going to a location on 127 North to see if the lawn to the House had been mowed. That’s when she noticed a gold colored 4 door car with a temporary tag parked in the yard. Then a white female was seen exiting the house carrying items with the back doors and truck to the car filled with miscellaneous items. The victim confronted the woman and she stated that the house was empty and she is looking to rent the house. The shed was also opened where someone has forced the hasp and lock off the door. The victim stated that she could not tell if anything in the shed was taken. The victim also stated that the woman claimed to have health problems and pulled off a wig. The victim stated that she had short hair and was “salt and pepper’ colored. The woman then drove away on 127 North with the items. The victim said the house next door was also forced into and kitchen items were noticed to be missing. Reports state that Joy Bartley was arrested days after the report was made.
