The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is appealing a court ruling that says game wardens can not enter private lands without explicit permission from the property owner or a court-ordered search warrant. In 2022, the Benton County Circuit Court ruled in favor of Hunter Hollingsworth and Terry Rainwaters who sued after the TWRA set up cameras on their private property without permission. After that, the TWRA could not just go on private land, whereas before they could. TWRA says the lower court ruling has made its job a lot harder so the Agency is appealing. Oral arguments are scheduled for June 20, 2023.
