One worker was killed and two others injured Saturday after a vehicle struck them on a walkway just outside of the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga. It happened around 5:30am. Police did not immediately reveal why the driver left the roadway. One worker died at the scene and a second suffered life-threatening injuries. The third worker sustained less severe injuries. WVLT reports the German automaker decided to halt production at the plant after the wreck. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
