City Manager Greg Wood told council that prior to taking bids for demolition, the city would need to conduct an asbestos assessment. The existing buildings were built in 1968 and 1971 as part of the Capri Motel complex. The original portion of the motel, built in 1954 according to state tax records, was recently converted to storage units.
