Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Rescues Autistic 4-Year-Old Girl From Pond In Oneida

A Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy rescued a missing autistic 4-year-old girl from a pond in Onieda on Sunday, May 7, 2023.  According to the Sheriff’s Office, around 1:45pm Sergeant Chris Russell and Deputy Robyn Clowers responded to a reported missing child call from the girl’s mother. The child had been missing for about 15 minutes. As Deputy Clowers remained with the mother, Sergeant Russell began to search the immediate area. Sergeant Russell traveled down the street to find a pond approximately 100 yards from the residence. As he approached the pond he could see water splashing and saw movement from a small child’s head. He immediately dove into the water and brought the little girl safely to the bank. The child was examined by Scott County EMS and released without serious injury
