There’s shocking news out of Hamilton County about a female Emergency Room patient impersonating a nurse at Erlanger and trying to discharge other patients. Local3News reports Chattanooga Police said it happened Sunday night (6/25/23). WTVC reports that nursing staff told police a young female patient wearing a hospital gown had entered two elderly patients’ rooms and told them she was an Erlanger nurse and was there to discharge them. She reportedly removed the monitoring equipment and I.V. of an 85-year-old man and was attempting to the same on a 70-year-old woman before she was stopped by family members. The woman’s family then alerted hospital staff who put Brock in custody on a mental health hold. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office the fake nurse has been identified as 28-year-old Lydia Kate Brock, of Bradley County, Tennessee. Brock is charged with two counts each of Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Elder Abuse, Criminal Impersonation and one count of Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.
