Former residents of the beleaguered Village Inn complex are claiming civil rights violations after the City of Crossville temporarily closed the facility last July due to multiple building code violations. The closing displaced about 120 residents for about 24 hours before the city re-opened the apartments due to a procedural error. The suit names several city employees including the fire and police chiefs as well as most employees involved in the evictions. Randy York, City Attorney, has forwarded the suit to the city’s insurance.
