Body Of Missing Kayaker Recovered Friday Morning On Cherokee Lake In Grainger County

The body of a missing kayaker was recovered Friday morning on Cherokee Lake in Grainger, County.  Officials said they found the body of 36-year-old Jeremie Carpenter in the lake near his home.  He was not wearing a life jacket.  They had been searching for Carpenter since Wednesday after a kayak with personal items was found several miles from Carpenter’s house.  The investigation is ongoing.  This is Tennessee’s 17^th boating fatality this year.
