The Special Olympics World Games took place last month in Germany for the first time and coach Nina Weston of Sparta, Tennessee was there. According to specialolympicsusa.org, Weston is the fitness and wellness director at the Sparta-White County Family YMCA. She has coached Special Olympics powerlifting athletes for more than 5 years. This year she represented Special Olympics USA as an assistant coach in powerlifting at the World Games in Berlin, which featured over 6,500 athletes from 126 countries. Weston is proud of her athletes and how they overcame their obstacles to come together as a team. She is also grateful to Special Olympics Tennessee and Special Olympics USA for the opportunity to work with these athletes and share in their success at the global event.
