Wendell Wilson and Colton McClanahan Awarded TN FFA Honorary Degrees

During the Special Recognition section of Monday night’s Cumberland County Commission meeting, County Mayor Allen Foster recognized former teacher and Commissioner Wendell Wilson and Stone Memorial FFA alumni and former FFA State Officer Colton McClanahan. Mr. Wilson and Mr. McClanahan were two of only nine people awarded the Tennessee FFA Honorary Degree at the 95th annual Tennessee FFA State Convention in March.  This is the highest honorary degree bestowed by the Tennessee FFA and is reserved for those individuals that have rendered outstanding service to agricultural education and the Tennessee FFA.  In his newsletter, County Mayor Foster said, “Cumberland County certainly has a strong FFA program that is well established.  We are proud of and thankful for these two individuals and the work they have done.  Thank you for your contributions to our community.”
