Jeff Shaw, co-founder and Market Manager of PEG Broadcasting was posthumously honored Monday evening at The Tennessee Association of Broadcasters’ 75th Anniversary Banquet and convention. Shaw, who tragically passed away earlier this year, was a member of the organization’s board of directors, and a former Board Chairman, was recognized with the Organization’s prestigious Distinguished Service Award.

The Distinguished Service Award was established in 1974 to honor men and women who have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to their communities and the broadcast industry.

“Jeff was a tremendous leader in the broadcasting community, both nationally as well as the state of Tennessee. He was also a passionate advocate for the communities he served, and a friend to everyone”, said Chris Baker, President and CEO of TAB.

The award was received on Jeff’s behalf by his son and successor at PEG Broadcasting, Reed Shaw, and presented by Dr. Sam Swan, Professor Emeritus at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Swan is a previous recipient of the DSA, personal friend of the Shaw family, and former Communications Professor to Reed Shaw.

In addition to Jeff’s son Reed, his wife Dawn and his two daughters: Anna Holt and Holley were on hand for the ceremony.
