Cumberland County July Unemployment Rate Was 4.3%, Down 0.4%

Cumberland County’s July Unemployment rate was 4.3%, down 0.4% from June, and a drop of 0.1% from July 2022.

Warren County’s July jobless rate was 4.8%, down 0.1 from the previous month, and 0.3% less than a year ago.

White County’s July Unemployment rate was down 0.1% from June to 4.0%, and but up 0.2% in a year-to-year comparison.

Seventy-nine of Tennessee’s 95 counties reported lower unemployment for the month of July.

Williamson, Cheatham, Sevier, and Moore counties all had the lowest rates of unemployment at 2.7%.

Bledsoe County had the state’s highest unemployment in July at 6.2%, which was still a decrease of 0.2 of a percentage point from its rate in June.

Statewide in July, Tennessee recorded its lowest seasonally adjusted unemployment rate since the federal government began tracking jobless numbers in 1976. The new rate of 3.1% edged out the previous all-time low rate of 3.2%.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate inched down to 3.5%, 0.1 of a percentage point from June’s rate of 3.6%.
