NASCAR’s Premiere Cup series returned to Hampton Georgia to run the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Martin Truex Jr. won both stages giving him 40 Career stage wins which is 8 more than anyone else in the field. Joe Gibbs Racing finally showing signs of life after 3 of their 4 cars finished in the top 5, including Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., and Denny Hamlin. Kevin Harvick added to his resume as well passing the 10,000 Laps lead mark since joining Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014, this victory was also his 51st NASCAR Cup series victory putting him solely in the 12th position on the all time Win list he is 3 away from the 11th spot held be the late great Hall of Famer Lee Petty.
