Tennessee’s special legislative session adjourned Tuesday with four of Governor Bill Lee’s proposals passing both chambers.
The bills lawmakers passed during the special session promote safe gun storage; require the TBI to submit an annual human trafficking report; and provide for more accurate background checks for firearm purchases. Legislators also passed an appropriations bill designating more than $100 million for mental health agency grants; school safety grants; and recruitment and retention bonuses for mental health professionals.
