Jason Dockery, the man at the center of a multi-state manhunt, has reportedly admitted to fatally shooting 38-year-old Shysti Renea Mayberry of Anderson County. According to WVLT, an investigator said in court documents that Dockery was sitting in a vehicle with Mayberry and a 21-month old child when he brandished a 9mm handgun and shot the woman. Court documents say Mayberry tried to flee but Dockery kept firing until he killed her. Dockery fled and dropped the child off in Union County where Dockery was captured on Thursday. He reportedly had a 9mm handgun when he was apprehended. The murder warrant states he confessed to investigators. WVLT reports Dockery was arraigned on the First Degree Murder charge in Anderson County General Sessions court on Friday, The Judge set a $2 million bond and Dockery’s next court date will be September 27, 2023.
