A cargo fire tied up traffic for several hours on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County this morning (Monday, June 15, 2020). According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, around 5 a.m. 28-year-old Cecil Ingram, a truck driver from Nashville, was traveling eastbound near mile marker 333 when he thought he had a flat tire on his trailer. He pulled over on the shoulder and found the trailer brakes, tires and axle were on fire. Flames spread to the trailer, destroying it and a load of new tires. The truck was unhooked and pulled away from the trailer. No injuries were immediately reported. The blaze shut down both eastbound lanes of the I-40 and it took most of the morning to clear up the scene.
