A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon after crashing on Highway 70 East in Cumberland County. THP reports it happened around 12:40pm near Daysville Road, not far from Westel. According to the accident report, 59-year-old Walter Onopa was driving a 1996 Harley Davidson west on US Highway 70 East when he crossed the center line and struck a guardrail on the left side of the roadway. The motorcycle continued westbound, crossed the center line again, and struck an embankment and guardrail on the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle came to a final rest on the back side of the guardrail off the right side of the roadway. Mr. Onopa died from his injuries. He was wearing a helmet.
