Three drivers were hospitalized following a 3-vehicle crash Tuesday night in White County. Charlie Tollison, Assistant Chief for the Sparta-White County Rescue Squad, reports emergency personnel were dispatched shortly after 9pm for a multi-vehicle collision on the southbound side of Hwy 111, south of Hampton’s Crossroads. One driver was trapped in their vehicle and the Rescue Squad had to stabilize the car and then take off the driver’s door before the patient could be removed from the vehicle and placed on a backboard. Two drivers were transported by air ambulance from the scene, with the third one being scheduled to fly out of Highlands Hospital in Sparta, after ground transportation. Extrication time was short, but Rescue One stayed on scene until approximately 1 am Wednesday to assist THP with lighting up the scene for investigation purposes. Chief Tollison thanks all the Agencies that responded to the crash and to the Putnam County Ambulance that responded for mutual aid. (Photos courtesy Charlie D. Tollison Facebook)
