A 40-year-old man died after his vehicle collided with a semi-truck on 127 North in Cumberland County Monday morning (10/2/2023) . The THP has identified the deceased as James P. Shrewsbury of Tennessee. The crash happened shortly before 7am at the intersection of Tabor Loop. According to the report, Mr. Shrewsbury was driving south in a 2013 Dodge Avenger when he crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2015 Peterbilt that was pulling a trailer. The Dodge spun counter-clockwise back across the center line and ran out of the roadway into the southbound ditch line facing northwest. The semi-truck ran out of the road onto the northbound side, coming to a controlled stop facing northeast. Mr. Shrewsbury was fatally injured. The THP report states he was not wearing a seat belt. The truck driver, 61-year-old Benny M. Hughes, of Tennessee, was not injured. No charges are pending.
